Race Date - Saturday, May 22, 2010
The 2010 OGAR will be held Saturday, May 22 with headquarters at Gasconade Hills outfitters on the Gasconade River, east of Lebanon, Missouri (28425 Spring Road, Richland, MO 65556)
This is a multi-sport challenge event featuring running, trekking, mountain biking, orienteering and paddling. All course distance, maps and itinerary are kept secret until race morning. There are THREE different categories of competition, with a Masters Division for each category:

TEAM -- must be a co-ed (ratio up to you) group of four
- Masters Team -- co-ed group of four whose combined ages on race day equal 160 years or more

DOUBLE -- two people (same sex or co-ed)
- Masters Double -- two people whose combined ages on race day equal 80 years or more

SOLO -- you do it all on your own!
- Masters Solo -- you are 40 years or older on race day
Race Information
Before submitting your entry for the race, please make sure all team members understand the following:
- Participants must be physically and mentally prepared to complete an 8 to 14 hour multi-sport endurace race.
- Everyone must be completely self-supporting, except for paddling equipment (watercraft, paddles, life vests) which will be provided and gives a level playing field.
- Outside assistance is not allowed, unless from another team within the race.
- Bike helmets must be worn at all times while in a bike segment.
- Participants must be 18 years of age or older on race day.
- All participants should read the race rules.
Race Rules
- Preliminary rules are now available online
- Final race rules will be distributed at packet pick-up. Race rules distributed on-site will replace all previous rules distributed or posted -- it is your responsibility to be aware of updates and changes.

Packet Pick-up and Race Check-in
- Teams need to pick up their information packet (Race Bibs, Race Rules, Passports and T-shirts) on Friday from 4 to 8 PM at the HQ building on site. For those teams arriving on race day, the information packet pickup table will be open from 5 to 5:30 AM.
- All teams must check in at HQ on race morning between 5:00 to 5:45 AM. Checkin lines will be arranged by bib numbers. Maps and clue sheets will be handed out at that time.
Mandatory Team Briefing & Race Start
- All participants must attend the MANDATORY briefing at Race HQ which will be held at 6:00 AM Saturday morning. You will be boarded on busses at 6:15 to go to the start point for a 7:00 AM start.
Gear
- Everyone must be self-supporting in all aspects except paddling (watercraft, paddles and life jackets will be provided)
- Helmets required for biking segments
- Compass (no GPS allowed)
- Simple first-aid supplies
- Map case
- Lights for bikes (head and tail) are highly recommended
- Recommended gear: water bottles/hydration packs, daypacks, snacks, appropriate clothing and footwear
- The course map that will be provided (1 per team) will be a topo map. Teams may want to secure useful top maps of the general area surrounding headquarters, although it is not required.
Transition Points
No one will be allowed to stash gear at transition point areas (other than at headquarters)-- doing so will result in disqualification (and will be explained in more detail at mandatory race briefing). Team should plan on being entirely self-sufficient. Water will be available at some transition points to refill bottles/bladders.
Medical Support
Paramedics will be available to provide medical assistance. Teams, duos and solo racers will not be penalized for receiving medical attention and can continue racing afterward if the paramedics permit it, and race rules are continued to be followed. The paramedics have the final decision in allowing a racer to continue racing or not due to medical issues.

Gasconade Hills Resort is located one mile south of I-44 at the Richland exit (#145), east of Lebanon, Missouri
Camping/Lodging
Primitive camping is available on site and is included in race fee -- no reservation needed. Improved camping and limited cabins available from Resort. Lebanon and the Fort Leonard Wood areas have hotel-motel options, too. www.canoemissouri.com
Orienteering Workshop
An orienteering workshop will be hosted by the Ozark Greenways Adventure Race on Thursday, April 29 at 6:30 p.m. at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center.
Awards & Food
Details on types of awards to be presented and time of presentation race day will be made in April - please check back.
Participants and volunteers are invited to a carbo-loading dinner on Friday evening, May 21st -- included in your race fee. Celebrate completion of the race with another great meal -- free to racers and volunteers. Spectators may join the feast on Saturday for a small fee.
